58 lives lost and over 500 hurt. Trump has total control of this crap, don't he? I expect North Korea to strike us while we're down.

Gun laws and security are the issue. Every gun purchaser needs a mental evaluation performed before buying and should be on at least every 6 months basis. Security needs to be tightened down at events, a guy with guns like that should not be able to get into a hotel to shoot like that alone a major event.

Of course you know that will spark an outrage that people's rights are being overtaken though, right? But then again, some folks are so simple they take the words "Right to Bare Arms" literally.

Not insisting the simple people are Trump supporters though. I would never do that.

Well yeah, but just about everything can spark controversy these days. It really isn't a violation of rights, its a few rotten apples that spoil the whole bunch and kill off a good portion of the bunch when it comes. You have to think about safety for fellow man over a "right".

Seeing safety over a right is hard for one-sided people to do. Trump supporters are a prime example of one-sided. But then so are Republicans and Democrats.

I feel so bad for the families involved.. so senseless and how somebody could plan something out like this is just sickening.. ~sighs~ Really all that can be done is make guns more difficult to obtain..

Terrorists want people to be feared. Just like bullies, if you show you are afraid of them they will attack again and again. Gun laws need to be seriously overhauled and the American people need to show they are not backing down.

So true. This is a time to stand together and say enough is enough..

Well said Pierre. That is exactly what the definition of a terrorist is. America needs to step up and say enough is enough, along with tightening the gun laws.

You win a few you lose a few. Horrible thing to happen in your own borders, can't imagine how families with lost loved ones are feeling.

so sad!! takes more than Trump to stop this from happening again! gun law restrictions need to be real real tight and this is comin from a registered gun owner!

There is a time to heal and then stand strong. America needs to do this and then realize that things aren't working with their current gun laws.

Right, it takes an entire country to come together and fix this. With the country political dividers, that's asking a lot.

Some things just need to be put aside. Politics in this case is one of them.

real sad stuff to see but people need to stop pointing at beliefs and skin color on this and realize that the things to focus on is the motive and making guns harder to obtain. also I don't understand the point of owning a machine gun or anything beyond a hand gun. life is not that dangerous.

Did I really hear a source say that the shooter was mentally unstable? Pardon my language, but no shat! I thought EVERYBODY put plans together to kill hundreds of people.

Gun laws can be tightened and so can security, but this violence will not stop. Maybe less often but it will never stop. Protests, ISIS, KKK. It never ends.

You heard the same thing I did.. you figure this would be one of the first things they would investigate..

I honestly feel that there is stuff they don't need to relay to the media. Investigations would probably go quicker if they only released details to the media that really needs to be out there. But then again they control everything people see and hear. *shrugs*
